If you have time, there is SO much to see in NYC and all accessible by bike. Venture just out of the park walls to discover the world renown Metropolitan Museum on 5th Avenue (at 83rd St) or the wonders of the Natural History Museum on Central Park West (at 82nd St). Both are a treat for yourself, a group or the whole family and are very conveniently located .Peddle down famous and elegant Fifth Avenue for a birds-eye view. Stop at St Patrick’s Cathedral (at 48th St) and Empire State Building (at 33rd St) then up 6th Avenue of the Americas to Rockafeller Center (at 50th St).

For a change of scene and a breath of air, head west a few blocks to the Hudson River on 12th Avenue and treat yourself to a breathtaking and easy ride along the river bike path..northbound toward Riverside Park or southbound to Battery Park for a bit of lunch and a magnificent view of the famous Statue of Liberty. Later, scout the streets and well known shops of nearby SOHO and West Village.
(note: bikes are generally allowed on most all subway cars and you can get to Columbus Circle via the 1, A, C,B and D trains and to 58th and 7th Ave (near the park) via the N and Q trains.)
